Ccmcacollister This is what happened:

Italian won the game Play like Topalov
The winner will play a game with Topalov before the next M-Tel Masters
(Sofia, May 22, 2006) Italian won the game Play like Topalov which was running during the super tournament M-Tel Masters. In the web site www.mtelmasters06.com the chess fans had to guess the moves of the World Champion in his games from the competition. The prize for the winner is a game against the World Champion and winner of M-Tel Masters 2006.

The winner is Alex Brunetti from Italy. Registered with the nick name Brunetti he guessed a total of 209 moves of Veselin Topalov for the ten rounds of M-Tel Masters. The winner in the game had to play against Topalov on May 26 in Sofia. A delay in the giving of international passport will make it impossible for him to arrive in the Bulgarian capital on that date. For this reason the meeting between the two of them will take place in the beginning of May 2007 just before the start of the next edition of M-Tel Masters.

The game Play like Topalov attracted the interest of the chess lovers. In it took part over 850 people from all over the world. Over 1 million visits are recorded in the web site of the tournament for the period May 10 21.

Thanks thumper! Very helpful info. I knew about the M-Tel contest won by Alex Brunetti but knew nothing of the delay nor game site being Bulgaria. Very interesting. I hope it will all come off without a hitch, and that M-Tel comes thru as promised. Seems like an awfully long time to have to be rescheduled to ... And a long time to be on the edge of my seat!
