♡ 15 ( +1 | -1 ) en passantIf my black bishop is on b7, my opponent's white pawn is on a7, and my opponent moves his pawn from a7 to a5, can't I capture his pawn "en passant" with my bishop by moving b7 to a6?

♡ 45 ( +1 | -1 ) Wellthis is not really how en passant works at all: as tovmauzer pointed out, only pawns can capture en passant, the capture is backwards, and your black bishop could never land on b7 (b7 is a white square).
If you have a pawn on b5, and your opponent plays a7-a5, then you can capture en passant by moving b5-a6 ("in passing"). A similar backward capture or a forward capture with a bishop is illegal.
